Welcome to Artful Tuesday!! I mentioned once before that Tuesdays were my day for docent training. And today was another training….it was pretty uneventful but always amusing.
Today, my thoughts keep going back to one of my all time favorite paintings. Made famous by the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, this painting reminds me of my childhood for a different reason.
When I was in elementary school, my art teacher taught us about pointillism and George Seurat. She told us about how the artist worked for two years to complete the painting. And seeing it person, I am always amazed by the commitment required to complete a work.
I have been thinking about the painting and Seurat in relationship to my own promise and journey. Right now, I’m so caught up in the day-to-day struggles that I can’t stop to step back and see the big picture. Maybe that should be my goal for the month of March…
