What Would Eleanor Do: Be Multifaceted

One thing life has taught me: if you are interested, you never have to look for new interests.  They come to you. When you are genuinely interested in one thing, it will always lead to something else.

Eleanor Roosevelt

I have several hobbies and interests.  LOTS of interests!  LOTS of hobbies!

Knitting — Wine — Traveling — Quilting — Cooking — Baking — Shopping — Writing — Flowers — Computers —Photography — British Royal History — Films — Art — Theater — And…

There aren’t enough hours in the day for me to enjoy them.

Today I spent most of the day spring cleaning while listening to the audiobook for Hunger Games.  Multitasking is essential in my life.  If I can’t do 2 things at once, I feel like I’m being completely lazy.  Truth be known, I’m currently “watching” my one of my favorite show, Castle, while I write this blog.

I don’t know what this says about me.  The “evil voice” inside my head would say that it shows that I have lack of commitment.  Instead, I would like to think of myself like Eleanor thought about being interested in life.  One interest/hobby leads to another one.  Knitting has lead me into quilting.  Cooking and baking lead to wine.  All food interests tie back to my love of travel and photography.

If science is correct about the value of keeping an active mind, I’m completely set.  My brain is a wonderland of new interests yet to be discovered.  I love that about me!
