crossing the finish line

Commencement revisited

The other day I wrote a letter to my 18-year-old self. There was good advice in that letter, too.  However, I’m kidding myself if I think that I could have actually appreciated it.  One of the biggest problems with  commencement, and specifically commencement speeches, is that you can’t appreciate them while they are happening.  I personally have learned more from listening to speakers when I wasn’t graduating than when I was.

Here are two of my favorite ones (so far) from the 2012 commencement season.
