Patterns

Day 2: Pattern

Patterns are everywhere. They exist in nature, in design and even in human nature. It always surprises me how humans, myself especially, fall into the same patterns of behavior over and over. Whether it’s what I eat for breakfast, how often I exercise, the effort I put forth for a new project or how I allow people to treat me, I can look back into my own personal story and see the patterns. This year I aim to change and break some of those patterns, especially those that prevent me from reaching my goals and dreams.

Pattern of destructive behavior is not helpful, unlike patterns in tile. This picture from a section of the Morocco pavilion in Epcot captures the beautiful side of pattern. The different patterns play together harmoniously to create this fountain. My goal is to create new healthy patterns for myself that work together to get me a few steps closer to living my big dreams.
