In small ways I find myself doing things that I watched my mom do as I grew up. Saturday mornings were her time to bake and cook all sorts of dishes for the upcoming week. I spent my Saturday morning preparing a dessert for a dinner party tonight.
Less than a month ago, I joined The Daring Kitchen’s group of Daring Bakers. Each month a baking challenge is given to the group. This month’s challenge was Swedish princess cake. It was a challenge for me.
May’s Daring Baker Challenge:
Here’s my adventures in making this dome cake:
Making the custard
Making the spongecake
And the final product….which received rave reviews!!
It looks wonderful. Looking forward to seeing you next weekend. I think I smell that cake from here.
Thanks. I can’t wait to catch up in less than a week. 😉
Beautiful princess cake, wonderful done!
Welcome to the Daring Bakers! 🙂
Thanks. I just realized that I wasn’t suppose to blog about the cake til today. Oh well, I’ll wait until the 27th next month.
